Day trip to the three valleys (Ourika)
Description of the tour
Morning departure from Marrakesh to the Lala Takerkoust Valley, with its dam which captures the melt water from the High Atlas, making it a photogenic beauty spot to enjoy.
Next we visit the village of Moulay Brahim, (named after a Sufi saint, who founded a religious group), where we will also be able to take tea with a Berber family.
Suitably refreshed, we head for the Valley of Asni, dotted with numerous Berber villages with town of Asni famed for its weekly markets. The tour continues in 4x4 through the mountains to the verdant Ourika Valley, with its hamlets, and orchards. Lunch is included at a local restaurant by the riverbank, where we can try a tajine and relax a while in the breeze by the river.
After our stop, we will follow the Ourika River downstream, as far Setti Fatma, where a guide will take us on a short hike up to the waterfalls, a round trip of about 2 hours.
After the visit, we will return to Marrakesh, arriving by late afternoon.
